Mark Weeks is a partner in the Cooley Business department and is chair of the Firm's medical device practice. Mr. Weeks joined the Firm in 2008 and is resident in the Palo Alto office.
Mr. Weeks' practice includes the corporate representation of emerging growth and public companies, venture capital firms and investment banks. He is involved in a full range of corporate legal projects including private financings, public offerings, mergers and acquisitions, corporate partnerships and technology licensing, as well as the representation of investment banks in equity and debt transactions. Mr. Weeks has been included in Silicon Valley/San Jose Business Journal's 2008 "Who's Who in Silicon Valley."
Prior to joining Cooley, Mr. Weeks was a shareholder at Heller Ehrman, where he served as the Managing Director for the Business Department and was Co-Chair of the Firm's Venture Law Group. Mr. Weeks has practiced law in Japan and has represented U.S. and Japanese companies in a variety of corporate transactions.
Mr. Weeks received a J.D. in 1987 at Santa Clara University School of Law, where he served as the Articles Editor for Santa Clara Computer and High Technology Law Journal and was the Co-Chairman of the Santa Clara Moot Court Competition.
Mr. Weeks is a member of the State Bar of California. For six years, he served as the Co-Chair of the American Heart Association's Research Roundtable.
